Hop diagonally across a pyramid of cubes, change every tile to its target color, and escape bouncing enemies without falling from an edge.

Gottlieb released Q*bert in 1982 after programmer Warren Davis saw a cube pattern associated with artist Jeff Lee and imagined balls bouncing down a pyramid. Cube Hopper is an original, unaffiliated browser adaptation of the broad diagonal-hopping puzzle format. Each landing changes a cube toward its target color, while enemies and exposed edges turn route order into a survival problem. One careless direction can send the hopper off the pyramid. Read the four diagonals, choose a reversible path, and start coloring the cubes online.
From the top cube, you press down-left once and watch the landing. You then hop up-right to return. That pair proves the inverse controls and colors one tile without approaching an edge. You repeat the test on the other side before starting a faster route.
Three unfinished cubes remain near the base. You descend a zigzag through the first two, then use an upward diagonal to enter the third from below its neighbor. The connected route avoids climbing all the way to the top and revisiting several completed tiles.
An enemy bounces toward your lower-right branch. Instead of hopping into the corner, you wait on the central junction until it commits downward. You move up-left onto the vacated branch, circle through two unfinished cubes, and leave the pursuer with a longer route back.
Play Cube Hopper online free on Clasica Games without installing anything. The browser handles diagonal adjacency, cube colors, enemy bounces, edge falls, lives, and level completion. Spend the first moves calibrating opposite controls, then cover connected branches while preserving a return tile. Watch the actual color after every hop and finish the last isolated cube only when its approach remains clear.
| Version | Difficulty | Players | Typical Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cube Hopper | Beginner to advanced | 1 | 3 to 8 min |
| Area Claim | Intermediate | 1 | 3 to 8 min |
| Barrel Climber | Intermediate | 1 | 3 to 8 min |
The chosen diagonal pointed beyond the outer edge where no adjacent cube existed.
Follow the current target-color rule. Some levels may require more than one state change or may reverse a tile on another visit.
Avoid entering the corner first. Wait on a tile with several exits and move after the enemy commits to a branch.
No. It is an independent generic pyramid-hopping adaptation with original presentation.
Cube Hopper rewards players who see adjacency beneath the false three-dimensional view. Calibrate opposite directions, cover connected rows, and keep an upward return available before entering a corner. Tile colors provide the record, so trust the board rather than a remembered route. Davis and Lee's work on the 1982 Q*bert explains the format's historical roots, while this game remains an original browser adaptation. Hop above and turn the pyramid one controlled landing at a time.
