Roll five dice and keep at least one after every throw. Threes score zero, every other die scores its face value, and the lowest total beats the CPU.

Threes, also called Threes Away, reverses ordinary dice scoring: 3 is worth zero, while every other face keeps its printed value. Scottish classroom resources use the game to explore totals, choices, and chance with five dice. Clasica Games presents one round against a CPU and permits up to five throws. The catch governs every decision. Every 3 must be held, and after each nonfinal roll you must hold at least one die before rolling the remainder. Lowest score wins. Throw all five dice, keep the free-scoring 3s, and decide which additional low face should become permanent.
Your first roll is 3, 1, 4, 5, 6. The 3 locks for zero. You select the 1 as your additional low keeper and reroll 4, 5, and 6. This preserves a current base of one point while giving three dice another chance to land on 3.
You roll 4, 5, and 6 among the dice still moving, with no new 3. You cannot reroll all three. Select 4, the lowest, and reroll 5 and 6. The held 4 is permanent even if a later result would have been better.
Your final dice are 3, 3, 3, 1, and 2. The three 3s contribute zero, so the score is 3. The CPU finishes on 7. Since lower wins, your mix of zero-value threes and low held faces wins the round.
Play Threes Dice online free against the CPU. The browser locks every 3, requires at least one held die before a reroll, counts up to five throws, and calculates 3 as zero automatically. Select low faces with care, reroll the rest, or score early when the displayed set is good enough. No cup, score pad, money, or download is needed.

A 3 scores zero. Every other die scores its face value.
Yes. Every 3 locks automatically and stays held for the rest of your turn.
After the first throw, you must select at least one available die to hold before rerolling the others.
You can roll up to five times in one turn, though you may score earlier.
Zero, achieved when all five final dice are 3s.
Threes Dice rewards low totals, mandatory 3s, and careful commitments. Hold every zero-scoring 3, choose at least one die after each throw, and usually preserve the lowest other face while rerolling higher values. Five throws pass quickly. Start above, watch how the forced hold shapes your set, and aim for a total that the CPU cannot beat.
