The wheel shows A, E, I, N, R, S, T, L, and O, with R in the center. A beginner anchors on R and tests common endings. RAIN works because it contains R and uses four available letters, so it earns 1 point. TRAIN also works and earns 5 points. The player now checks the same cluster for TRAIL and RETAIN rather than scanning from zero.
A wheel contains one S among its nine letters. The player first considers ASSES, then notices the wheel shows a single S. That word cannot qualify. The correction sends the search toward words that use S once, such as SAINT or SOIL, and prevents wasted submissions on patterns the wheel cannot support.
A puzzle offers A, E, I, N, R, S, T, L, and O with R required. The player groups the common ending -TION and connects the remaining letters to form RELATIONS, which uses all nine letters and includes R. Only as often as it appears in the wheel. If the wheel shows two S tiles, a word may use S twice. A wheel that shows one S limits you to one S per word, so ASSES would fail on a single-S wheel.
A four-letter word earns 1 point. Each longer word earns one point per letter. A full-wheel word that uses all nine letters earns a 10-point bonus in addition to its length score, so it is worth 19 points.
