Samurai Sudoku, also called Gattai-5, joins five standard 9 by 9 Sudoku grids in a cross-shaped layout. Four corner boxes are shared between the center grid and an outer grid. Every shared entry must satisfy both boards, so a deduction in one region can open a second region. This page presents five connected practice grids with the familiar row, column, and box controls.
A center row contains eight digits, so its missing digit is forced. That entry also changes the shared corner on an outer board.
A digit is possible in two cells of the center box but only one cell of the linked outer row. The outer row fixes the placement.
The last empty cells form a single candidate chain. Checking each board confirms the shared boxes agree.

The usual Gattai-5 layout contains five overlapping 9 by 9 grids.
